Christiane Wachter's collages offer us insights into poetic, narrative, and at the same time enigmatic, surreal worlds of images. The torn, cut, glued, painted over, or stenciled fragments, applied to a wide variety of materials, become an impressive tactile and sensual experience. ... Inspired by everyday life and travel, landscape and architecture, as well as people and sculpture, are the central motifs in Christiane Wachter's work. Models from the artist's private sphere are mixed with artistic creations from an imaginary pool of memories of travels, city and church spaces, collections, and exhibition venues.
