Frank Maasdorf

Frank Maasdorf (born 1950), a sculptor from Dresden, makes heads that are like real forces of nature. Stone and volume set the theme and expression, while diagonals create rhythm and structure. “I wander through the stone with my chisel,” says Maasdorf, giving it shape in a way that's easy to see and with minimal gestures.
