Introduction

Lovis Corinth (1858-1925) is considered the leading representative of German Impressionism. After training in Königsberg, Munich and Paris he became member of the Berliner Sezession in 1911 and professor at the Akademie der Künste Berlin in 1918. His work spans the transition from the 19th century to modernism, from realism to impressionism to expressionism. His oeuvre comprises over a thousand paintings, a similar number of watercolors, drawings, and prints. In the cabinet we are exhibiting prints.
