Hermann Gloeckner only used the printing technique of lithography once in his lifetime. In 1984, his colour lithograph »BLATTFORM« was printed in an edition of 50 copies. The composition of »BLATTFORM« is derived from the multicoloured chalk drawings of the »SCHWUENGE« series, which were created between 1983 and 1986. Each of the four colours was printed from a separate colour stone. Interestingly, during the printing process, Gloeckner decided to rotate the composition from horizontal to vertical, a change he also expressed with the new title »BLATTFORM«. The lithographer Michael Wackwitz produced a set of scale prints before the edition was printed. These are a total of seven unique prints, each of which Gloeckner authorised with his monogram, presumably to distinguish them from the signed and dated edition prints. They include four monochrome colour separations from each stone and three composite prints based on each other, including the four-colour final sheet as the end result. Each of the seven scale prints is unique, with only one copy of each existing as a unique print. This is what makes the sheets exhibited here so valuable.
