Since its founding in 2014 the gallery has been dedicated to the visual arts in East Germany. The exhibitions in the skylight hall and cabinet are intended as explorations of this region, which is characterised by its historical peculiarities. In addition to important positions in East German Modernism, numerous contemporary artists are also represented. A selection of works from Classical Modernism expands the programme to bridge the gap between the 20th and 21st centuries.
